All dogs are spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Bauer - Bauer is a 4 year old male rottweiler that was transferred to SARR from a pound in Northern Alberta.  Poor Bauer has had a very difficult life - he was a reserve dog and when he came into rescue he had over 70 wounds on his body from the other reserve dogs picking on him.  Bauer is learning how to be part of the family and realizing that the comforts of food, water and shelter will always be available to him.  He is also starting to learn how to play with other dogs and even to play with toys!   Bauer is looking for a home that will continue his socialization and give him the attention and care he deserves.   Update:  After spending many months in foster care, Bauer has made tremendous progress and is waiting for his forever home.  We certainly hope there is a forever home in his future as he has much love to give and deserves the best!

Olive - Olive is new to our organization and she has had a rough time lately so she needs to spend a bit of time in foster care recuperating.Peace officers were sent to a home where they found a deceased dog and Olive.  She was quite emaciated when she was seized from the home - she is a 5 year old rottweiler and only weighed 49 lbs!The other dog in the home had likely died from starvation but thankfully Olive was rescued in time.  Olive spend her initial recuperation time at the local SPCA where she gained 17.6 lbs in one month. After review from our medical team it has been determined that Olive suffered an injury in the past that was left untreated and she now requires surgery and rehabilitation to fix the old injury.
Update: A Olive has been responding well to here physical therapy and her therapists feel that she should be ready for adoption by February, 2012.
